After you have been referred to us, the first thing a member of staff from the Bristol Area Stroke Foundation will do is listen to you.
Whether you are the person who has had the stroke, or their carer, you will probably already have been seen by many different professionals. Each will have dealt with different problems according to their expertise. But what you probably haven’t had the opportunity to do, taking as long as you need, is simple explain how you feel, how your life is affected and what is concerning you about your life after stroke. Our staff will listen. We can then tell you about the services we can offer that might help and also signpost you to other organisations outside our own.
