A stroke has been likened to an earthquake in the brain' and the effect on the life of the person who has had the stroke, and on their family, can seem as disruptive as an earthquake.
In an instant, every aspect of daily life can be affected and it can be hard to come to terms with the sudden changes in your life. A stroke can cause physical, emotional and social upheaval for the affected person as well as for family and friends.
Stroke affects everyone differently. Some of the problems are, paralysis (usually down one side of the body), language difficulties, forgetfulness and changes to eyesight, to name just a few. There are many other possible effects.
Our professional staff and volunteers are there to offer guidance and support to you and your family with your life after stroke. We understand the many problems you may face as a consequence of stroke.
